WOMEN IN THE COUNCIL. (Received 29. 9.55 a.m.) Sydney, Dec. 29. The Government will not be able to appoint any women to the Legislative Council fop some months until the Constitution Amendment Bill has received the Royal assent. The chief measure for Parliament "when if resumes is consideration of the Electoral Bill seeking to revert to single scats with first past the post svstem of voting. The Legislative Council previously rejected the latter part, substituting preferential voting.
