To overcome the deadlock between the Assembly and the legislative Council, the Treasurer nas presented a new Income Tax Bill to the Assembly. In doing so he said the rates would be half those originally proposed, which would have brought in .287,000. leaving a surplus of £9OOO. The bill passed all its stages in both Houses. (Received 24, 11.25 a.m.) Sydney, Dec. 24. The annual report of the Sydney Harbour Trust discloses that during th year 8092 vessels of a gross tonnage o* 15 623,989 entered the port. This is only 3.2 per ent below the pre-war record.
