Mr. J. D. Gray. Under-Secretary of External Affairs, who, with Sir James Al'en, represented New Zealand at the League of Nations Council meeting at Geneva, returned by the Tahiti yesterday. My. H. Binsted, Superintendent of Schools at the Cook Islands, was a passenger by the Tahiti from Rarotonga yesterday. • The Minister of Defence (Hon. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes) left Wellington for the south last night, and on December 30 will attend the annual meeting of the St. John Ambulance Association at Dunedin, in his capacity of Ambulances. Mr Charles E. E. Childers, who was British Consul in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for 15 years, and who has just retired, arrived by the Tahiti from San rancisco. He has come to Now Zealand to visit his relatives in Whangarei, and will then visit Queenslartd. We have just landed a large assortment of cream pleated skirts in wool repp and serge, also dainty silk and silk and wool jumpers. These are all reasonably prices goods and are in great demand.
