CAPTAIN REILLY.
A SERVICE TO TRANCE. Paris, Dec. 18. “Liberte’’ states that it was Captain Reilly who in December, 1924, discovered a Communist plot for a revolution in France. He placed documentary proof in the hands of the British Government and Mr. Baldwin communicated with M. Hcrriot, whereupon troops were mobilised and the ringleaders expelled. A recent cable stated: An unrevealed drama lies behind an advertised death notice stating that Captain Sydney Reilly, M.C., beloved husband of Pcpita, was killed near the village of Allekul, Russia, by G.P.U., troops (the notorious Cheka police). The .Daily Express’’ states that Reilly was tho son of an Irish father and Russian mother. He established the first Russian aerodrome in 1910., He took a commission in the R.A.F. in 191/, though over the military age, and subsequently undertook hazardous intelligence work in Germany. Later ho was in the secret service in Russia during the height of the Bolshevik terror, becoming an official in the Soviet organisation. He was outlawed in 1918 and condemned to be shot if found in Bolshevik territory. He 'married Pepita widow of Haddon Chambers, playwright. in 1923. __
