ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
At the inquest on Helen Banks, married, who was drowned through her hus’haud’s car going over a bank nt Miramar, Wellington. Bauks said that after an evening run to Lyall Bay and the engine stalled while turning. He got out and fixed it. Ho left the clutch in reverse gear, and the car suddenly went over a bank. A Verdict was returned of “accidentally killed. ’ ’ Alexander Stewart, aged 36, single, was burned to death in his hut at Win ton this morning. Deceased, who was a sawmill hand, occupied the hut with his brother, who escaped the flames.
