PUBLICATION SUPPRESSION BILL. London, July M». The House of Lords read the second time the Bill restricting publication of reports of judicial proceedings to certain defined statements of fact, penalising lawbreakers by a term not exceeding three months’ imprisonment and a £5OO fine. Lord Justice Darling, in moving the second reading, explained that the bill aimed at preventing publication of Mephitic details which sickened decentminded people. Viscount Cave, Lord High Chancellor said that he was unable to guarantee facilities for the passage of the bill, but personally he sympathised with the objects.
