ARRANGEMENT COMPLETED WITH NEW COMPANY. Wellington, July 20. The Government has made agreements with a new broadcasting company, belonging, it is understood,* to Wellington, for the erection, by the company, of a 500-watt output station in each of the four cities, and the maintenance of an efficient service. The company will receive 25/- out of each 30/- licensee fee paid by broadcast listeners. and a similar proportion of the fees of radio traders, and also other fees. The Government has been temporarily subsidising existing broadcast stations until a national scheme was evolved. The negotiations have been dragging on for months without effect, and this now company has now stepped in. The power of ihe stations will render programmes audible in Australia and even further afield.
