RUHR EVACUATION.
PROCEEDING QUIETLY. Paris, July 18. “Le Temps’” Brussels correspond ent reports that the Belgian Government is in agreement with the AngloFrench Governments, and decided that Dusseldorf, Duisberg and Ruhrort be evacuated in the near future. A Berlin mbssage states that tin French evacuation of the Ruhr which is to he completed by July 31. is proceeding ’ quietly and unostentatiously. The thinning out policy preferred to be a more conspicuous and spectacular policy than the marching out with flying colours two and a-hah years ago. Bochum and Recklinghausen were evacuted on July 18, and Hattingen will be evacuated on July 20. The last of the French colonial troops leave the Ruhr on Monday. Many billets have already been released in Essen and Dusseldorf, but reports of the imminent evacuation of Dusseldorf and Duisberg are premature. —(A. and N.Z.)
