MAN AND WOMAN SHOT. Whakatane, Alay 4. A man and a woman were found dead with gunshot wounds on the beach at Rotoma at 10 o’clock this morning Nearby was a Dodgo car with the number 30-602. There are scanty particulars. The police are investigating. WOMAN’S SUICIDE PREVENTED. COUPLE’S IDENTITY UNKNOWN. , Rotorua, Alay 4. News was received at noon that a man and a girl were found shot alongside a motor car at Lake Rotoma. Al. Tonics, of the Public Works Department, working near the road, heard shots and investigated. The girl was about to shoot herself through the breast, and the man had his head blown off. Tho weapon used was a single barrel shot gun sawn off short. A man named liclph was speaking to the deceased ten minutes before the tragedy. Their identity is unknown.
