PRECAUTIONS IN NEW YORK. (Received 2, 10.0 a.m.) New York, May 1. Tho police guarded all public buildings and homes of noted men and public officials. Ten Communist meetings were broken up by the police, who drove tho members into the street and confiscated May Day literature.—(A. and N.Z.) STRIKE AT HAVANA. (Received 2, 10.0 a.m.) Havana. May 1. Drivers of street cars, ’buses and taxi-cabs remainded away from their posts on May Day. Workers held a meeting and a parade.—(A. and N.Z.) PARADE AT OSAKA. (Received 2, 11.10 a.m.) Tokio, May 1. During a Mar Day demonstration in Osaka, 30.000 workers, including Koreans, paraded the streets under tho dose vigilance of the police, but it terminated without serious clash.— (A. and N.Z.)
