First Royal Show

THE CLOSING DAY. CONCLUDING AWARDS, | . . I (Per Press Association.) Palmerston N., Nov. G. Good fortune in the matter of weather attended the first Royal Show, which was concluded to-day. The gate receipts for the concluding day were £9BB, the total for the show being £lBl3, compared with £1175 last year. The ring competitions drew . a large - crowd, and magnificent jumping was witnessed. The parade of champion ■ blood stock was an imposing spectacle, the animals taking nearly an hour to travel the ring. Additional awards are as under:— Wilber Remembrance Trophy for ' best Friesian group, consisting of bull over two y€ars, aged cow, three-year-old heifer, and two-year-old heifer—■ Central Development Farm (Weraroa) 1, John Court, Ltd. (Auckland) 2. Ten animals were paraded before five judges for the Alfa-Laval Cup, which is awarded for the best dairy cow of any breed, judged on daily points. The winner was the Ayrshire cow Maesgwyn Princess, owned by T. H. Colpman (Ohau). S. R. Lancaster’s (Palmerston North) Jersey Lady of The Glen, was second and a Friesian, Fayne Segis Galatea, owned by the Mangatoki breeder, T. Perry, was placed third. Harrier (N.Z.
