WAIRARAPA WASHOUTS.
FIRST TRAIN FROM WELLINGTON TO-DAY. (Per Press Association.) Carterton, Nov. 7. The first train from Wellington since Friday last arrived at Carterton at 11.11 a.m. to-day on schedule time. The early train did not run from Wellington. commencing the journey from Cross Creek. A full service is expected to-morrow. The new work over th© washout is entirely successful. The Rimutaka road is now open for motor cars, but larries and heavy vehicles are prohibited.
