A MOTORING FATALITY.
CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER. JURY DISAGREES. Auckland, Nov. 6. In the Supreme Court the jury, after four hours’ deliberation, failed to agree on a charge of manslaughter against Joseph Balle in respeot to the death at Hamilton of Dfarurice Enoch Ansell, who was knocked down by a motor car driven by the accused on May 6. Deceased was riding a bicycle, behind which the accused’s car came up and then deceased turned to the right. Accused swerved, but hit the bicycle. The defence was ’to the effect that the accused had exorcised reasonable care in attempting to pass tho cyclist. A new trial at tho next criminal sessions at Auckland was ordered, a change of venue Laving been granted from Hamilton for the original hearing.
