PACIFIC CABLE DUPLICATION.
USE DESPITE WIRELESS. London, Nov. 4. Th© Pacific Cable Board ia preparing specifications and is shortly calling tenders for the duplication of the cable, which ia now so overcrowded that th© board ia compelled to refuse messages. Sir James Allen says the indications ar© for continual growth in the us© of th© cable despite wireless developments. The AustralianCanadian trade agreements will mean heavier demands on the cable and if Britain concedes preference, as expected, it should result in further Empire trade development. The board, therefore, must prepare for future needs—(Sydney “Sun” cable).
