TEACHERS’ SALARIES.
TO BE INCREASED. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, Nov. 6. ine Government proposes to increase the salaries of sciiool teachers, primary, secondary and technical by £5O,uOQ per annum in consonance with tlie improvement in other branches of tlie public service. Increases, however, will be given in some grades only, ami not in all. ayd £450 per annum is roughly drawing the line. The annual increments will be £lO- instead of £l5. Th© married allowance will be increased by £lO, and married head teachers will receive not less than £5O for house allowance. The salaries in certain country schools will be increased to attract good teachers..
