A HASTINGS WEDDING.
RUSSELL-SMITH. we(^din fi "'AS solemnised at the Lesley Church, Taranaki street. Wellington ,recently of Miss Florence Hmith, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Smith, Laing’s road, Lower Hutt, and Mr. Charles Russell, youngest son of Mr. And Mirs. C. T. Russell, Avenue road, Hastings. The church’ vas decorated with arum lilies and a wedding bell of pale pink apple blossom wa s suspended above the altar. The '•eremony was performed by the Rev. Clarence Eaton, and Mr. Temple White rendered appropriate music on the wgan. The bride, who was given away by her father- wore a dainty frock of »vory satin, gracefully, draped to the left side with pearls. Her veil, the gift of Mrs. J. Brown, Greymouth, formed the short train, and was arranged under a coronet of pearls and orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of roses, carnations, and sweet peas. The bridesmaids were Miss Elsie Smith Miss Eva Tonks, and were dressed \n dainty taffeta semi-Victorian frocks and hats trimmed with posies and streamers, Miss Smith being in marine green and Miss Tonks in a pretty shade of bougainvillea. Both carried bouquets to tone with their frocks. Mr. Cyril Burton was best man and Mr. Arthur Bate groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held by the bride’s parents in Wesley Hall, which was decorated with streamers and flowers, and about 100 guests were present. Among these were Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Russell, of Hastings, parents of the bridegroom. Later, the bride and bridegroom left by motor, the bride wearing a frock of navy gabardine, with a hat to match..
