Certain rates embodied in the Stamp Duties Act will aiso be reduced. It is understood the reuuction does not apply to company taxation. AUSTRALIAN CRIME. THE ADELAIDE TRAGEDY. Adelaide, Sept. 9. The Barrowcliff tragedy was enacted on Sunday morning and was not discovered till early on Monday, when a neighbour entered the house. Mrs Barrow cliff was still alive lying beside row cliff was still alive lying beside tho body and was bleeding from a deep cut in the throat. He said ha hit nor on the head once and she never moved. The couple had just sold the house they lived in for £lOOO. It is stated that Barrowcliff was a prominent figure im the Glonrowan district in the K>lly gang days. LONELY WOMEN MURDERED. Melbourne, Sept. 9. The body of Miss Bridget hnwright, aged 69, who had been missing from her home near Bennalla (Victoria) since July 27, was found partially buried im circumstances indicating foul play- Miss Eiiwright lived alone on her farm. Thu last time she was seen she was talking to a young man near her home, which showed evidence of being robbed, though there were nb sigms of a struggle Seoxcb parties had been out since the disappearance.'' The body w r as discovered a short distance from the house. BODY BADLY BATTERED. Later. The body was found in a crevice among rocks, about 200 yards from her residence. An examination of the body showed that the nose was broken, there was a small hole in the top of the head and the lower limbs were badly bruised. A shovel found 250 yards from the body has been identified as the property of a neighbouring farmer, who says it had been stolen.
