HAVELOCK NORTH.

DISTRICT SCHOOL BALL.

The Havelock District School ball was held last evening in the Village Hall, and, as usual on such an occasion, there was a crowded attendance. The room was beautifully decorated with wattle and flags and presented an animated appearance, with about 150 boys and girls in fancy dresses. The proceedings opened with the Grand March, the children marching well under the direction of their teachers. Sir Roger de Cocerley and other dances followed, in which the adults joined, dancing • with the little ones, to excellent music supplied by Air. Phil Walden’s orchestra. The M.C.’s were Messrs. Macken. C. Nimon and Carmichael. The supper arrangements were in the capable hands of Mrs. Sefton, who had the assistance of a willing band of lady helpers, and, the little ones were well catered for.’ Everything went with a swing from start to finish, and the 1924 dance will long be remembered with great pleasure by all who participated in it.
