SYDNEY YEARLING SALES. (Received 29, 12.10 p.m.) Sydney. 29. At the yearling sales 138 lots sold realized 23,575 guineas. A Magpie— Mystic light gelding was bought by Air J. Williams, of AucKllfhd, tor 160 guineas. On account of Air Stead, the Nassau—Waiomi colt brought 200 gineas. , NOTES. Consequent on the strike the North Otago Jockey Club has postponed the date of to May 6. H. McSweeney injured his right shoulder when Highway fell in the Steeplechase at Trentham on Saturday. He expects to be riding again at the Wanganui meeting. J. Barry is having a great innings at present. He rode two winners at Taulierenikau. three at Riccarton. and three at Trentham on Saturday. His total is now .37 on the jockeys’ list, four behind McCarten. A. Reed is third with 34. The totalisator turnover tit Trentham on Saturday was very moderate, the sum of £2B 641 10s being put through on the eight races. The acceptances received for the first day of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s autumn meeting are very gratifying and should be the means of making the meeting one of the most successful in the club’s history. With some of the best performers in the Dominion ora the list keen contests can be looked for.
