AGREEMENTS WITH CHINESE LABOUR. London, March 11. In th© House of Commons Dr. Chapple asked whether an appeal to a third party was provided for in case of dispute under agreements between the British Phosphate Commission and Chinese mechanics and coolies imported to Nauru.
Mr. Thomas replied that he understood the agreements were subject to the approval of the Administrator and th© employees were entitled to submit complaints to him. Asked whether the British Government had any control over the terms of the agreements. Air. Thomas replied. * ‘None whatever.”—(Reuter).
