FIRST DAY. Woodville, Feb. 1. The Woodville autumn meeting opened in fine, windy weather. The attendance was_fair and the track in good order. Results:— Hurdles.—Sling Camp 1, Country Life 2, Antler 3. Scratched, Ranui. Won easily, a length between second and third. Time 3.23 3-5. Trombone broke down.
Ruahine Handicap.—Dissertation 1, Island 2, Jackaroo 3. Scr: Askari. Won by a length, a length separating second and third. Time 1.15.
i Electric Handicap.—Strongholt 1, Benmure 2 Kyla 3. Won by a head, two lengths between second and third. Time 1.2 1-5. Scratched: Thurks and Sunny Valley. i Wliariti Handicap.—Mountain Peer 1. Good Mark 2. Swallow Flight 3. Scr; Waetea. Clandhu, Turban. Won bv a length.' half a length separating second and third. Time 1.31 1-5. Cup. —First Salute 1, Sunart 2, Mungawhero 3. Scratched: Dissertation. Won by a head, two lengths between and third. Time, 2.7.
