RUMANIA.
FRENCH LOAN RENOUNCED. MUNITIONS ORDERS PLACED LOCALLY. Paris, Jan. 30. A long and authoritative statement now makes it clear that Rumania has definitely renounced her intention of asking th© French Government for a loan of 100,000,000 francs. It is explained that the inevitable delay, in the French Parliament voting the loan compels Rumania to seek other means of tiding over its difficulties, and most of the orders for war material have beengpver. to Rumanian industries. This is advantageous both to Rjunania and France, to the former on account of its depreciated exchange, and to the latter because it gives an opportunity to practice anothei economy at a moment when she is endeavouring to find means to balance her budget. It is emphasised that FrancoRumanian relations are in no wise affected.—(Reuter).
