New Zealand Union that M.A.v. were | not eligible lor the Moa.scar Cup competition, it was decided to wait for a reply to the Hawke's Bay Union’s protest. Members considered that it would be advisable to address a further protest to the head unon, and that there was something other than football behind, the decision. Mr. W. O'Neill suggested that Jjlebberley, who played as an emergency in the Wellington match, should be presented with a blazer from the Union. Thi s course was agreed to. Mr. C. S- Findlay’s proposal that Blake, Dine and O’Donoghue should also get blazers, on the ground that ] they played in the team that brought the Shield home last year, was not adopted. In reporting on the Auckland tour, the manager (Mr. J. M. Brown) said that the team’s behaviour was splendid, and that they made a very favourable impression. He was quite convinced that Hawke’s Bay could beat Auckland the next time they met, as the visitors had a little the. best of the game all through. It was decided to send a letter of thanks to Mr- Gunson for his attention to the team while they were in Auckland.
