RECEIPTS AND EXPENDITURE. HALF YEARLY RETURNS. An increase of £7975 4s 7d iu receipts and a decrease of £2284 0s 7d in expenditure is shown in the halfyearly figures of the .maintenance account of tho Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board up to September 30 last. The following return, which will be presented by the secretary (Mr E. T. Rees) at the Board meeting on Munday, shows the actual receipts aud expenditure and the estimated receipts uno ex penditure in the second column (shillings and pence omitted): — RECEIPTS.

For the same six months of 1922 the expenditure amounted to £23,361 14s 4d, so that in this, also, there is an improvement of £2,284 0s 7d.
