The foundation females from which they are bred, are of the famous Monopolist strain, upon which has been built the famous Jersey Island and English importations of Mr. Charles Goulter...Soumise Majesty, Soumise Lily, Soumise Jack, Dalesman, Golden Flower and Lily of Jersey 11. These animals combine the best blood in the world for show type and butterfat production. In addition, good use was made of the great butterfat sires, Majesty’s Fox (imp.) and Grannie’s Knight, by K.C.B. (imp.). In addition. Soumise Majesty is sire of Soumise Tom, five of whose daughters now average over 700 lb. of fat. Several females sold from this stud two years ago are now making good records. One has produced 6121 b. of fat in less than 10 months. The stock are all in great order, are guaranteed sound and females in calf, and are for unreserved sale. THE SOUTHDOWN STUD, owned jointly by Mr. Goulter and Major Taverner, is a very high-class one, and is largely of. the famous Richmond blood. Stud rams of the highest merit only have been used. The sale rams from this flock have been in keen demand, and this is an excellent on-or-tunity to secuse foundation stud ewes in lamb to high-class prize-winning rams.
