THE ECONOMIC SYSTEM.

A LABOUR MOTION. (Received 16, 2.5 p.m.) London, March 16. In the House of Commons, Mr. Snowden gave notice of motion for Tuesday calling attention of the failure of the capitalist system adequately to' utilise and organise natural resources and productive power or to provide the necessary standard of life for vast numbers of the population; that legislative effort should be directed to its gradual supersession by a system based on public ownership. Notice was given of several amendments upholding the existing commercial system and urging legislation to prevent its being hampered by State control.—(A. and N.Z.)
