LONDON WOOL AUCTIONS. HIGH RESERVES. London, March 13. At the wool sales there was a goud tone, and all classes were firm, but there wore frequent withdrawals of merinos owing to the high reserves. The series has been curtailed three days, closing on March 23, and 20,000 ‘‘tree’ ’and 10,000 B.A. W.R.A.’s will not be offered. Also the sale of 40,000 B.A.W.R.A. arranged for April has been postponed till June.—(A. and N.Z.) WESTFIELD PRICES. Auckland, March 14. Beef: There was a very heavy yarding and prices declined in consequence from £1 to 30s per head. For plain there was practically no demand. Extra choice ox brought £1 3s per 100 lb, but this was oidy in isolated cases. Choice and prime £1 to £1 2s, ordinary and plain ox 18s to 19s, prime youngcow and heifer to £l, second quality cow and heifer 12s to 16s. Sheep: A good yarding came forward. Competition was erratic and prices on the whole wore slightly easier, especially for ewes. bio extra heavy wethers were yarded. Heavy prime wethers £1 13s to £1 14s, medium tjrime wethers £1 9s to £1 12s, light and’ unfinished £1 5s to £1 Bs, heavy fat wes £1 5s to £1 6s 6d, light fat £1 to £1 4s. Lambs: A fair yarding was offered. Prices were easier for all except extra prime. Heavy prime lambs £1 5s to £1 6s, light £1 2s to £1 4s 6d, unfinished 16s to £l. Calves: There was a very heavyyarding, containing many well bred station lines. Prices wore much easier, though one exceptionally heavy runner realised £5 4s. Runners £2 5s to £3 13s, heavy vealers £2 to £3, light vealers £l5 to £1 10s. Pigs: A heavy yarding sold under keen competition at late rates. Choppers to £3, heavy bacohers to £4 3s, medium baconers £3 to £3 10s, heavy porkers £2 Ils to £3, medium porkers £2 to £2 9s, large stores £1 12s to £2, slips £1 to £1 9s, weaners 12s to £l. STORTFORD LODGE STOCK SALE. The usual weekly sale was held at Stortford Lodge yards yesterday, when a fair yarding of sheep and a small yarding of cattle was offered to the public. Prices were easier, as compared with recent rates. Prices ranged as follows:—Fat ewes 21s to 245, f. end f. wethers 245, s.m. ewes 21s 6d to 225, 5-year-old ewes 14s to 17s, 4-year old ewes 19s, 2-tooth ewes 28s, 2-tooth wethers 225, fat bullocks £7, fat cows to £5 7s 6d, dairy cows from £5 to £lO.
