INVERCARGILL WOOL SALE. Invercargill, Alarch 5. The second wool sale was held to-day, when 7500 bales were offered to the usual bench of buyers. When quality is considered the prices showed a drop of about id to in medium and inferior wools. Finer wool qualitjf was not up to the previous sale. Bidding was brisk on better quality clips and spasmodic on other classes. The range of prices was as follows:— Halfbred—
THE ENGLISH AIARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cablegram from its London house dated 2nd inst:— New Zealand Butter: 4s per cwt lower (quotations 206 s to 210 s pet cwt). Market quiet. Cheese: 134 s to 138 s per cwt. Afarket steady.
New Zealand Frozen Aleat.- New season lamb (average) Is osd per lb: mutton, wether and maiden ewe, light 9d per lb, heavy 7sd per lb; ewe, light 7sd per lb, heavy 7d per lb; beef, nominal quotations; ox hinds 4sd pjp/' lb, fores 3 3-8 d per lb ; cow hinds 4 l-8d per lb, fores 3sd per lb. Small demand. Alessrs Dalgety and Co. have received the following cable from London: — Liverpool: B.A.W.R.A. wool sales opened with a fair attendance of buyers and animated competition. American and French buyers are operating freely while SEnglish buyers are ieserved. As compared with last London sales closing rates scoured merino wools 5 per cent lower, greasy crossbred wools 5 to 10 per cent lower, slipe wools 15 per cent lower.
