BETA CETI.
BEHAVING AS USUAL. Wellington, March 5. Regarding the Sydney cable in respect to Beta Ceti, the Government astronomer. Dr. C. E. Adams, says: “Of course, the confusing of Beta, Ceti with Mars is an absurd thing to do, if it has been done. No astronomer should do it. It would be an excusable mistake for an amateur, but no astronomer who knows his work would make such a mistake. All we know is that when we got on to Beta Ceti we could note nothing out of the normal about it.”
