M.C.O. v. SOUTH AFRICA. VISITORS WIN BY ONE WICKET. (Received 5. 11.5 p.m.) Capetown, Jan. 5. England won the test match by one wicket. The conclusion of the match was most exciting. Mann was missed at cover when 18. A few runs later Jupp was missed at extra cover. Three other possible chances were not taken. Kennedy survived a most confident appeal by the bowler and keeper. AUCKLAND COLTS v. MANAWATU Palmerston N., Jan. 5. A cricket match commenced this morning between a touring team of Auckland colts and Manawatu. The latter won the toss and deided to bat. At the luncheon adjournment they had lost three wickets for 94 runs (Eyre 43, Hodder 18, Aim not out 14, Rose 15).
