POSITION AT SYDNEY.
ULIMAROA TO BE MANNED
,n(Roceived 8, 11.35 a.m.) Sydney, Dec. 7. The Seamen’s Union has agreed to supply a crew for the Ulimaroa unconditionally. This decision was announced after a mass meeting of seamen at which it is understood it was decided to confine the strike to vessels owned by the Union Company. This decision was the outcome of a prior conference of representatives of marine and waterside organisations, which it is unofficially stated decided to advise the seamen that no assistance would be forthcoming from the various organisations should the union endeavour to extend the shipping dispute- '“j
THE WELLINGTON PROSECUTIONS.
CONVICTIONS ENTERED.
W'eHington. December 8. Mr. E. Page. S.M.. delivered his decision in the strike case against the seaman Manson, in which the Inspector of Awards sought penalties of £lO. Mr. Page said plaintiff had established a case against Manson who was fined £2. McKinnon was also fined £2 and costs to be spread over all parties against whom the convictions were entered. Leave to appeal was granted. Regarding the other defendants their cases will be called on again next Friday.
