WAIPAWA.
(Own Correspondent.) The annual ball in connection with the Waipawa District High School was held on Friday evening and was the most successful yet held in the history of the school. The theatre, both upstairs and down, was simply packed for the occasion. The function commenced with the grand march, which was a pleasing spectacle with the children in fancy dress costumes, and thereafter the fun was continuous until the small hours. The music was supplied by the Municipal Orchestra of twelve performers and' was excellent. Extras for the dances were also played by the local native orchestra. The supper arrangements were all that could be desired. Several fancy, dances were put on by the children, and the pretty evolutions were an evidence of the careful training of the school staff. The headmaster and teachers have cause for elation at the success of the function.
