WAIRERE CLUB’S TOURNAMENT. Owing to the heavy showers which fell yesterday afternoon, the play in the above tournament was considerably miarred. The open doubles and the handicap doubles were completed, however, but the open singles and handicap singles were held over until to-day. The semi-final and final of the latter were played this morning and the final of the open singles between Mrs Hutchinson and Mrs Evans at 2 p.m. The trophies will afterwards be presented to the winners by the president Wairere Bowling Club (Mr T. B. Bear). Following are yesterday’s results:— Open Singles. Mrs Hutchinson (26) beat Mrs Hogan (21). Mrs Evas (26) beat Miss Blake (12). Mrs Evans (26) beat Mrs Bailey (18). Open Doubles.) Mrs Tiffe and Miss Blake (26) beat Mrs Hutchinson and Mrs Belcher (20). Final. — Mrs Tiffen and Miss Blake (26) beat Mrs Renouf and Mrs W. Fraser (17). Handicap Dobles. Final—Mrs Ball and Mrs Bailey (26). beat Mrs Evans and Mrs Chetwin (11).
