IRELAND’S THROES

Statement By Collins

COMING TO LONDON.

LITTLE HOPE IN CONFERENCE.

CRAIG’S OBDURACY BLAMED.

(By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright.)

(Received 28, 11.20 a.m.)

London, Alarch 27

Air Collins made a statement that he would attend, though the Provisional Government had not sought a conference in London. The Free State had been ever ready to reach an agreement with Sir Janies Craig and had gone far to meet the latter. Jt had never broken any undertaking given. “Unfortunately, Sir James Craig had not been equally meticulous. He neither kept undertakings nor attempted to meet the Free State on several controversial points.” Though hoping for the best from the conference, Air Collins said he could not see any escape from the Northern impasse until Sir James Craig radically altered his inimical attitude toward the Free State and Belfast’s helpless minority.—(A. and N.Z.)
