CYCLONE AND LIGHTNING.
DESTRUCTIVE STORM AT WARKWORTH.
Wellington, March 27. The Postmaster at Warkworth telegraphs to the Chief Postmaster at Wellington as follows: —“A cyclonic storm struck this district at 6 o’clock last evening. Osborne’s house at Way by (10 miles from Warkworth) was demolished. Martin’s house. Warkworth, was demolished, and some of the inmates stverely injured. Wilson’s house at Springlands was struck by lightning. Considerable damage was done to orchards, fences, etc. Numerous telephone and telegraph wires are down.”
