PIRATES CLUB.

Mr. W. Holder presided at the annual meeting of the Pirates Football Club, held last evening. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £32 4s lid Officers were elected as follows: — Patron, Mr. \V. The secretary was voted an honorarium of £2 and the treasurer £l. The opening day for the club was fixed for April Ist. Mr. R. L. Dino was elected a life member of th© club.

The club decided to present a gold medal to the best all-round member on and off the field. Mr. Bee was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his generous donation to the club.

In the absence of the president Mr. C. Fountain (vice-president) presented Mr. Bee’s trophies to the following players:—Juniors, J. Boyd and J. Borlace; thirds A. T. Laws and C. Scarfe; thirds B. J. Laws and R. Kivell; fourths, J. Batchelor and C. Coutts; fifths, I. Cohen and H. Buchanan.

The question of arranging a suitable gymnasium was left in the hands of the incoming committee. It was decided to send a team to Gisborne at Easter.

The annual meeting of the High School Old Boys Rugby Club was held last evening, when there was a record attendance. Mr. W. A. Armour presided.

The chairman moved the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the latter showing a credit of £l5 3s 3d. In doing so he congratulated the club on the past season. Subscriptions for the season wore fixed at 7s 6(1 for seniors and 5s for iuniors and thirds, the amounts, to include 2s 6d insurance to the Union. Honorary members’ fee was fixed at 2s 6d. It was decided to open the season on McLean Park on Saturday, April Ist. New members numbering 46 were elected to the club. THE WOODVILLE CLUB. BREAKING WITH H.B. On Tuesday night at Palmerston North, a deputation from Woodville, headed by Mr W. A. Lyon, waited upon the Manawatu Rugby Union, with the request that it should receive the Woodville Club into its fold as a competitor of the Manawatu football competitions. The chairman said that providing the visitors drew up a petition and gained consent to play in Palnicrston North, the Manawatu Union would be willing to adopt them. He assured the deputation that a recommendation to that effect would be forwarded to the incoming committee. After the deputation retired a motion to this effect was passed.
