CRITICAL STAGE AT HAND. i THE ULSTER PROVINCES. SINN FEIN M.P.’s MISSION, [By Cable.—Press association.—'Copyright J London, Oct. 17. A disturbed week-end in Belfast resulted in two men being killed and three wounded. Dublin believes the conference will reach a critical stage early in the week, and regards as significant the London mission of Mr Soun Mi Hoy „ Sinn Fein member in the Ulster Parliament for Tyrone Fermanagh, which are the most difficult factors in the settlement. He was called to confer with the Sinn Fein delegation.—(A. and N.Z.) COMPENSATION AWARDS. London, Oct. 17. The Recorder at Cook awarded £lO,OOO to the widow of Major Compton Smith, who was captured by Sinn Feiners and subsequently shot. Lord Castlemaine was awarded £101,359 compensation for the destruction of Moydrune Castle. The widow of Brigadier-General Lambert, who was shot when returning from tennis, was awarded £9000.— (Reuter). /
