TYPHOID AMONG MAORIS.
OUTBREAK SUBSIDING. I Levin, Oct. 18. i In a statement to-day Dr. Valintine said that everything was satisfactory in regard to the outbreak of typhoid amongst the Maoris at Muhunoa pah. There had been no more cases and the hospital had been closed and patients were going hack to their homes where they were being attended to by nurses daily. Stringent measures are being taken to prevent the spread of infec-, tion and he did not anticipate an extension of the outbreak.
