By Bonnio Buchlyvie (by Baron o Buchlyvie) from Silver Princess (by Silver Cup). SILVER PRINCE, though foaled in the Dominion, was got in Scotland, and is thus virtually an imported horse. Coming, on both sides, from lines that have produced numberless Old Country champions among tho heavy classes, proper mating with him cannot fail to furnish the type of draft horse that is in greatest demand, not only in New Zealand, but in Australia also. In his extended pedigree appear, besides those above mentioned, the names of such showring, sale-ring, and stud book celebrities as ‘‘MacGregor,'’ ‘‘Prince of Wales," “Darnley,” “Queen of Beauty," "Lady Louisa," and "Primrose." Bonnie Buchlyvie, the sire of Silver Prince, was sold at the Seaham Harbour Stud dispersion sale for 5000 guineas, and in one year 3T of his gets, including 10 foals, realised an average of 365 guineas apiece. His sire, Baron o’ Buchlyvie, fetched no less than J5OO guineas. SILVER PRINCE liimself, who is now only in his eighth year, doos full eredit to his fine lineage. Standing 17 hands, ho rs a big, weighty, solid horse, with splendid legs and feet, and a great grip of the groutid; has a fine, fast, straight, even gait, and is endowed with the very best of equable tempers.
