RACING REPORT.
DEPUTATION TO PREMIER. “STORMY PASSAGE EXPECTED.” Wellington, October 17. Delegates from the Country Racing Clubs’ Association waited on the Prime Minister this morning to protest against the recommendations of the Racing Commission. Mr. Bruce, president, said that if the recommendations were adopted as a •whole, sixteen country clubs would- be wiped out of existence. He suggested that the Minister of Internal Affairs should allocate additional country club permits, but that the fourth schedule, which named clubs from which the Com mission thought tote permits should be withdrawn, should be deleted. Mr, Massey said the report must he presented to Parliament, but what Parliament would do with it he could not say. His own opinion was that the report would have a stormy passage, but by that he did not mean that it would not get through in some form or other.
