SHIPWRECKED CREWS’ EXPERIENCE. Wellington, Oct. 16. The Marama arrived in Wellington to-day from San Francisco. She landed at San Francisco on September 20th 23 members of the crew of tho Italian bargue Monte Bianca, bound from Newcastle to Italy, which was burnt at sea and abandoned on July 23rd, 30 z south and 106 east, 400 miles from land. The crew manned one large lifeboat. They rowed for seven days and reached Lubai Island in the Society Group. When rowing they were attacked by sharks and battled for three hours cutting and slashing the sharks with knives for their lives. On Tubai, a remote island, they existed for 54 days on berries, wild game and fish, and drank he juice of native trees. The sighted a'steamer, which was attracted by fires and which conveyed the crew to Papeete.
