MARAROA'S ENGINES STOP.

TUGS STAND BY. Wellington, Octobc.r 11. The Mararoa. which sailed at 7.50 p.m. lor Lyttelton, despatched a wireless message at 8.45 p.m. stating that there had been a breakdown to her machinery, and that she was unable to steam. The tug Terawhiti left at 10.15 to tow the Mararoa back, and she arrived alongside at 11,10. It is anticipated there would be no difficulty, as the sea was smooth. There was a light wind off the shore and a drizzling rain, lhe tug Pelican left at 11.10 to assist in the tow. VOYAGE RESUMED. Wellington, October 12. At 2 a.m. the tugs returned, and reported that the Alararoa had resumed her voyage to Lyttelton.
