Horrible Tragedy

END OF DOMESTIC QUARREL. HUSBAND SLAYS HIS WIFE. AND TAKES HIS OWN LIFE. [Per Press Association.] Wanganui, October 12. The Wanganui police are advised of a sad tragedy at Nukumaru yesterday. A farmer named Luke McGorman murdered his wife by cutting her throat with a razor, and then cut his own throat. It is reported that McGorman and his wife quarrelled about eight o’clock at their home. The wife rushed out and ran along the road, but was overtaken by her husband, who cut her throat and then dragged the body to the side of the road. -McGorman proceeded to an adjoining paddock and cut his own throat. Mrs. McGorman’s dead body was found this morning, also McGorman. still alive, but he died almost immediately. McGorman was about 51 and his wife was 36. There are four girls and two boys in the family.
