APPEAL TO COUNTRY.
LABOUR PREPARES FOR ELECTION. London, Aug. 15. Mr Egerton P. Wake, national agent of the Labour Party, is resigning from the candidacy for Barrow on tho ground of the increasing responsibilities of his position. He writes: “Wo anticipate a general election within a few months, for which we are trying to obtain 500 Labour candidates. We intend to organise tho greatest attempt so far made to capture political power.”—(A. and N.Z.)
