PETANE ASSAULT CASE.
A MAORI ARRESTED. In connection with the Petane assault, on Saturday, on an old man named Lars Amundsen, Detective Sergeant Butler yesterday arrested a Maori named Karena Haepo, at Tongoio. The Maori was this morning charged with robbing Amundsen of £5 at the same time using personal violence. A remand till Friday was granted by Mr. J. S. Handyside, J.P., on the application of Senior-Sergeant O’Halloran,
