Major T. Tennent. 0.8. E., late of the Imperial Army, China station, arrived in New Zealand by the Arawa. Major Tennent, who is accompanied by nis daughter, intends to take up his residence in Auckland. W. E. Griffiths, of Palmerston North, made a very fine flight recently. Four birds were liberated in Auckland, and arrived n Palmerston N. in one flight. They were immediately transhpped to Dunedin, and six days later were liberated down there. Two of the birds, a Blue and a Blue Checker, did the full journey, nearly 600 miles, in one jump —a record for which it would be hard to find an equal in the world*
