Ward, b Stevens 1 Hendry, not out 1 Mavne, run out 5 Extras 9 Price and Blaikie opened the howling against Collins and Mayne. With the score at 7 Mayne was run out. Collins and Macartnev set a fast pace, scoring heavily off Price and Blaikie. The fielding did not approach the Austraifan standard. The f.'vond wicket fell at 86, Collins being caught at mid-6n. Taylor helped to keep things lively. The centurv appeared in an hour. Macartney getting 05 under three-quarters of an hour. Bettington displaced Blaikie at 107. After seventy minutes’ sparkling battling Macartnev played Stevens on. Hi« 77 included twelve 4’s. Tavlor showed the best, form he has ypt displayed. His battinp was versatile. his hits well-placed. With Pellew bo carried the score lB9. and was dismissed by a fine catch in front of the screen. Pellew was bowled by Stevens. Seven for 217, and Armctmng fdl at the same total.—(A. and N.Z.)
