BOY SCOUTS’ CONFERENCE.
Wellington, May 26. Tho annual conference of the Dominion Boy Scouts’ Association continued to-day. Tho suggested scheme for reorganisation was adopted. The scheme provided for a provincial commissioner, with deputy-commissioners in the larger centres, a provincial council, provincial headquarters office, and a paid clerk, local associations, local executive committees, district scoutmasters, representation from churches, boards of examiners and troop committees.
The report referred to the great revival of scouting. The financial statement showed a credit balance of £1244. The chairman of the executive. Brigadier General Andrew, expressed a desire for the extension of the movement. He said that the scouts could assist in the prevention of forest fires and help generally in the Government’ new forestry operations. He said it was necessary in the interests oi the organisation that £5OOO be raised every year.
