PRESS ASKS FOR IMPROVED CABLES AND WIRELESS. London, May 25. A deputation from the Empire Press Union, headed by Lord Burnham, Sir George Riddell, Robert Donald and Geoffrey Fairfax, embodying representatives of newspaper organisations in Britain and the Dominions, laid before the Hon. Winston Churchill a full statement of disabilities imposed by the poor cable and wireless systems in the Empire. The deputation urged Government action with a view to securing increased rapidity and greater cheapness in news communications.
