Egyptian Disorders.

CAUSE OF RIOTS. ZAGHLUL PASHA’S AGITATION. DRASTIC MILITARY ACTION. [By Cable.—Preßa Association.—Copyright.) Cairo, May 23. The majority of the rioters are supporters of Zaghlul Pasha. Their avowed aim is to seize the police stations and overthrow the Government, thus challenging the Sultan’s rescript appointing the Yeghen delegation to go to London. The trouble is that Zaghlul wanted to be leader of the delegation instead of Adly Yeghen Pasha, the present Premier, though his tour of the continent last year showed that Zaghlul is merely a demagogue, whereas Adly is an able statesman. Zaghlul. in a letter to the Sultan, declares tliat Cabinet is responsible for the disorders, because it is acting contrary to the promises of the nation. He demands a committe of inquiry.

The demonstrators have now been warned that outbreaks will be strictly repressed by force of arms. Citizens are warned to take shelter immediately

they meet rioters, otherwise they may be accidentally shot when the police and military open fire- —(Reuter.)
